Preparation
During the rehearsals I mostly gave my full attention, I like having fun with them and sometimes maybe a bit too much. I love drama, and I do try to take it seriously as much as I can. We will get the job done, just maybe not as fast and thoroughly as we could. When we like an exercise we show our ideas and put them forward, we talk in our group about our thoughts and usually we end up with quite a decent outcome. I have a creative mind and I try to put that into the rehearsals by asking relevant questions and suggesting ideas.
In the long run, I guess one could say that the production week was a valuable experience. It did teach me a lot about the creation of a theater piece. The ups and downs. But to say the truth, I witnessed more of the problems happening. Personally I think it wasn’t organized the best way possible. When and where people had to be, what scenes who was in; that was all a bit uncoordinated. I may have brought some negative energy into the theater but not in front of the organizers. My whole class was already getting upset so we were talking together about the whole experience. I know it’s hard to organize such a production, but one should be aware of that before getting into it.
This kind of work doesn’t really get me out of my comfort zone. I mean I didn’t do much than run around and sleep for a while. The wave scene was the most intense one, but my comfort was still in my zone.
My perseverance was shown in the wave scene, that was our scene. Us girls worked so hard on the choreography and really getting the whole storm to actually look like one. It was all our creation. I brought in ideas and proposed improvements.
I actually didn’t keep my personal feelings to myself . I told my friends what I thought of the production. When you do something new like this you want to tell people about it and we work on it every day.
